Diversity
· At The Principal, we know that success depends on diversity. Success in business and success in the community. We’re in the business of helping people reach financial security. And keeping them secure. From simple planning tools to a wide range of financial products, we’ve been helping individuals and businesses of all sizes for more than 125 years. You don’t have that type of success without an eye toward the future.

We’re champions of growing businesses—businesses owned by more women and minorities than ever before. From our sponsorship of research studies and unique networking events to our support of diverse suppliers, The Principal is committed to creating opportunities for entrepreneurs and employees alike.
· To us, diversity is not just about what makes each of us different. It’s also about what we have in common. And, it’s about how we can use all of those perspectives to create opportunities—not only for our employees, but also for our business. That’s why we look for diversity in the talent we hire. And provide the tools and opportunities to allow diversity to thrive once you’re here. Flexible work schedules, prenatal care programs, a Muslim prayer room, domestic partner benefits, resource groups for employees of varied cultural backgrounds. These are just a few of the dozens of opportunities we offer employees to create an environment of learning, sharing and excelling.

Training/Development
· Far beyond the time employees first step in the door, they’re given opportunities
to do new things, to share their ideas, to take risks. We think People
Development is so important we’ve made it one of our core values. It’s one
of the reasons we stay on top. We have the best and the brightest working here.
Through a number of training and development programs, employees are given
the tools they need to be successful now and in the future.

Working Hours and Vacation
· Balancing life and work is important. Eight to five. Part-time. Alternative work
schedules. Working from home. Offering flexible work schedules is just one way
our employees meet the many demands of life. And, because we all need time
off, employees get Personal Time Off and Volunteer Time Off too.

Career track/advancement
· One company, many jobs. That’s one of the great things about being a global,
diversified financial services company. The opportunities are endless. Our
internal job posting program makes it easy for employees to make the next step
in their career.
