Description

Pacific Guardian Life is seeking a highly qualified and results driven individual to fill a Director, Finance and Investments position in our Honolulu office.

The Director, Finance and Investments is responsible for the overall review, processes and reporting of the Company’s investment portfolios.  In addition, this professional position supports the CFO with the overall preparation and coordination of the Company’s annual financial operating plans, as well as oversees various aspects of the Company’s finance operations, including but not limited to cash planning and management, asset manager communications, regulatory developments related to investments, and providing financial reporting and technical assistance to the accounting department related to the investment and finance area.



Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited college or university is required.
  2. Minimum 5 years professional experience in finance or accounting with an emphasis on institutional investments strongly preferred.
  3. Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation preferred.
  4. Experience with Moody’s (GGY) AXIS valuation software a plus.
  5. Planning and analytical skills to function effectively independently.
  6. Strong leadership and organizational skills are required to participate in the organization’s decision-making related to areas of responsibility.  Ability to work with external consultants on technical investment and finance matters.
  7. Excellent written and verbal skills.  Strong people skills.  Must be able to effectively communicate financial information to all levels within the organization.  Ability to prepare and interpret financial reports and effectively present information to management and/or external individuals.
  8. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Must be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical forms and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.  Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel.
