Investment Analyst- Liability Driven Investing (LDI)

Sage’s Quantitative Research Team is dedicated to the analysis of complex client situations and development of customized investment solutions with a focus on defined benefit plans and insurance organizations. Team member work closely with portfolio managers, investment consultants, plan sponsors and plan trustees, actuaries, and insurance executives to design, implement, and monitor investment strategies.


Job Description


The Quantitative Research Team is seeking an investment analyst with actuarial experience to assist in the production of asset/liability analyses and the design, implementation, and monitoring of liability driven investing (LDI) strategies.


Responsibilities include monitoring client fixed income and equity portfolios, updating actuarial liability data, preparing quarterly and ad-hoc client reports using third-party software and the firm’s proprietary Excel models, and assisting in the preparation of prospect and client presentations. With time, the analyst will be expected to contribute to research and development efforts and participate in client conference calls and meetings.


In addition, the analyst will have opportunities to be involved with investment analytics, such as performance attribution, scenario testing, and risk monitoring.




·         Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (mathematics, actuarial science, computer science, accounting, etc.)

·         1-3 years of work experience, preferably in an actuarial or accounting field; will consider recent graduates

·         Experience with the MS-Office suite, including strong Excel and PowerPoint skills

·         Knowledge of fixed income and equity investments preferred

·         Experience using R, Python, or other programming language

·         Strong writing skills are a plus

·         Progress towards Association of Societal Actuaries (ASA) designation or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation preferred
